My first impressions of the Blackberry Pearl

So you got your first Blackberry handhald, is it the Curve or the Pearl? I know how surprised was I when I got my first, it was Blackberry Pearl. I never had such a phone, used Symbian, Windows Mobile but never RIM Blackberry. My search for Blackberry freeware was obvious since I wanted some free apps to install on my Blackberry but I was amazed how hard was it to find something good to put on my phone.

I got mine with the default Vodafone theme installed and I must say I didn't like it a bit. I was not long and I found this Black BlackBerry Pearl Theme I liked a lot (it is still the default theme on my Blackberry Pearl.

All in all being used to a more user friendly mobile environment I had a bit of hard time going through the phone. Well I do not know if it is the phone or the theme I am currently using but hey the thing that annoys me most is that when I press the green button I see all my calls BUT which I have dialed, which calls I have missed and which I have received I have no clue. There is not a single marker to show me which is which. Symbian and WM have done a good job there.

As far as the overall feeling of my Blackberry Pearl I must say I like it a lot, it is small ergonomic, light and fits well into my pocket. I really like the new pearl button it makes navigation very easy.

The other thing I didn't like is how the SMS messages are organized. They could have done a better job there.

But hey after a few months with the Blackberry Pearl being out of the box I must say I like it a lot. Hope you do!
